To whom It May Concern:
Due to our past positions, both my wife and I know how important having a County
Clerk with experience is. The position of County Clerk is one where experience
really is the key. The job requires years of experience and knowledge in order to
get the job done efficiently and with aplomb. This is not a position that can be
jumped into without the knowledge that only on-the-job experience in the County
Clerk's office can provide. Joan White is the only candidate that has the necessary
knowledge and experience to make this office run smoothly.
Please join us in voting for the experience that only Joan White has; vote to
re-elect Joan White as County Clerk.

To the Editors
I am
writing to support the candidacy of Joan White for County Clerk. Although I have only recently become licensed
in Washington State, I have been a practicing lawyer for over thirty years and
I've interacted with many county clerks.
What has impressed me the most about Joan White's running of the county
clerk's office is not only the willingness to patiently help attorneys, but
also the willingness to help members of the public navigate their way through
filing and procedures with which they are not familiar. This is in contrast to what I have witnessed
in other offices, where clerks are irritable with anyone who asks questions or
needs information. Additionally, the
county clerk's job is to keep things running smoothly, with documents being
where they are supposed to be, and not disappearing. Joan's operation of the clerk's office has
been outstanding, and I fully back her re-election as County Clerk.
Very truly yours,

To the Editor and voters of San Juan County,
I have never before written a
letter to the Editor or an “Open Letter” expressing my support of a candidate
for public office. I do so now to
express my support, and to encourage your vote, for the reelection of Joan
White as San Juan County Clerk and Clerk of the Superior Court.
Joan’s outstanding management and operation of
the County Clerk’s office, Joan’s unfailing positive attitude and instilling in
her staff the same positive attitude to truly help all who enter the Clerk’s
office, and Joan’s efficiency in “getting things done,” are exceptional in my
experience. As an attorney who
interacts regularly with the offices of various court clerks and other state
and federal government offices, my experience is that I and the citizens of San
Juan County want Joan White reelected to continue her outstanding service.
In my opinion, we want to continue Joan’s
exceptional management of her office and, equally importantly, the always
helpful, gracious and positive attitude of Joan and her staff to those who
request assistance. These qualities are
truly rare and I for one value them very highly. Please, vote to reelect Joan White San Juan
County Clerk.

Editor:
I am writing to urge voters to
retain Joan White as our County Clerk. I
have been an attorney for 20 years and have practiced in various counties
during that time. I have found Joan to
be exemplary in the performance of her duties as the clerk. The work she handles is not something that
can be learned except by experience.
The County Clerk’s office, which includes Superior
Court matters, is vastly different in scope than the District Court clerk’s
office. It interfaces with the
Department of Corrections regarding felonies, the Department of Social &
Health Services regarding child support and paternity matters, and even the
U.S. Government regarding passports. All
of this requires a detailed application of the correct procedures to insure
that the participants’ rights are protected.
Joan’s work in the County Clerk’s office for the past 21 years and her
experience with all of the required elements of the job she performs cannot be
replicated except by earning that experience firsthand...and that would take 21
years. Please join me in returning Joan
to her third term as County Clerk.
Sincerely,
Garrett J. Beyer

As a Friday Harbor attorney who frequently represented
clients in
Superior Court, I had regular interactions with the County
Clerk's
office and with Joan White personally. I found the office in general
and Joan in particular fully committed to helping attorneys
and clients
in whatever way possible.
All my interactions with Joan were pleasant,
efficient, and professional, representing the way that
government at
every level should interact with the public, but too often
doesn't.
Joan exemplifies what a public servant should be.
I am very pleased to endorse Joan White for re-election to
the office of
County Clerk.

Dear Editor:
I am delighted to write a letter for support for Joan P.
White, San Juan County Clerk. I have had
the pleasure of knowing and working closely with Joan for nearly 10 years, she
is indeed a lady of such character.
Joan’s dedication to the citizens of San Juan County and to
the Court’s business is clear, and irreplaceable. Through the last eight years
Joan has dedicated herself to ensuring the citizens of San Juan County have access
to their Court system, and the business of the Court is conducted in an
efficient and service minded manner.
Joan has steered the office though the most challenging of times,
creating new efficient ways of doing business while shrinking her overall
budget. I cannot think of a finer
example of leadership in public service.
Please pause to remember this example of experience and leadership at the polls this November.
Pete Brady
